Running, running, running...

Can you keep up with us?!

The boys have been doing lots of racing lately. On Sat. Oct. 4th, Easton and I participated in the Race for the Cure. Easton ran the 5k and I walked the 1 mile. Wish I could say that I could run, but the old hip won't allow that!

He did a great job! He came in 539th out of about 1386 men and placed 9th in his age division. Yippee!

This past Tuesday I accompanied the Oakdale cross country team to their state meet at Lake Tenkiller. This was the ORES (Organization of Rural Elementary Schools) State meet. Oakdale, I suppose because of the small size, is a member and competes in their division in many sports. Easton did a good job. Prob. not as well as at some of the other meets this year, but still put in a good time!

Oakdale had a great inaugural season of cross country and Easton loved it! Says he'll do it again next year for sure!

On Wednesday, the boys participated in the Oakdale Rocket Run. This annual event is one that they always look forward to. Mason's grade runs the 1 mile and Easton runs the 2 Mile.

FYI... this is also one of Oakdale's fund raising efforts. The Rocket Run, along with the spring auction, are the ways that the foundation raises money for the school. We don't peddle candy, or wrapping paper, or anything else... just give us a little money and we'll run for you!

Matt attended this event and said they did an awesome job. Final results are not in yet... we'll keep you posted!

On your mark...

Get Set...
